My name is Lexi King, and I was born in California in 2005. I went to Oak Creek Elementary School when I was in kindergarten for the first time. My parents then decided to hold me back so I would be on the older side of my grade. When I did kindergarten the second time, we switched schools because we moved, so I went to Melinda Heights Elementary School. I was there from K-4th grade. In 5th grade, I switched to Mission Hills Christian School and loved my time there. After 5th grade, my family moved from California to Virginia, and in 6th grade, I went to Williamsburg Christian Academy. I had a very good first year at school in Virginia and made lots of new friends. In 7th grade, I switched school to James Blair Middle School which opened up that year so every student who went to that school was new.

Unfortunately, in 8th grade covid happened so I never got to know what the end of

middle school would be like. I probably didn’t miss much though. In 2020, my family went on some fun vacations to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and Orlando, Florida. Then that fall I started high school at Lafayette High School. We started online, unfortunately, so I missed out on some freshman activities-but that’s okay! In the spring of my freshman year, I tried out for varsity soccer and made it! We had a rocky start to the season that year because we had a lot of people on the team with injuries, but after the first couple games we had everyone back. We even won Regionals against York for the first time in a long time. The next school year we went even further and won the State Championship! We made it to the State Championship final again in the spring of 2023, my junior year, but I got injured a couple days before and we unfortunately lost in the finals.

This year I am a senior and ready for college! I have enjoyed all the wonderful memories that this year as brought like football games, spirit week, and “Senior Assassin”. Some fun things I have done since the end of my junior year are traveling to California with my friend Eva Fields, skydiving on my 18th birthday, traveled to Florida for my cousins wedding, and visiting colleges. I have not decided what college I am attending in the fall, but it is between Penn State, Pepperdine, Clemson, and Texas Christian University. The best time of the school year has come back. It’s soccer season! We are 5-0 right now and have not let any goals up this season so far thanks to our incredible goalkeeper Eva Fields. Ou goal is to make it back to the State Championship and win it for the second time in school history. It’s going to take a lot of work but it we all trust each other and work together than its more than possible.
