I will be talking about the future of Luke Hansen. Luke Hanson is an alumni at Lafayette high school and is now playing baseball at the University of Virginia. Luke Hanson is a 6 foot three 200 pound demon in the middle infield. He has always had a humble heart to the game of baseball, the fans, and most importantly his teammates. As someone who has played with the Hanson himself, he is someone who changed history of Lafayette baseball for the better.

When Luke was a freshman, he decided he wanted to go to the University of Virginia. He was committed to working hard throughout high school and signed officially to UVA his senior year. Hanson was so humbled about the whole experience, and it has just made his teammates better since his freshman year. Luke was an adamant starter at the shortstop position. This carried on through his four years at Lafayette high school, and his sophomore year he was a stud at the plate batting 450 with three home runs. Luke carried it on even to his junior year and was an absolute stud at the plate with home runs bedding, 410 with on base percentage of 650 which adequately means he got on base 65% of the time out of 100. Amen to that brother. His senior year was a little bender for him as it went different than he would’ve liked but he was still hot with a 350-batting average and one home run. Luke did not let us stop him as he stayed humbled and grind nose down.

As I played under Luke for the last two years, it showed me what a true leader of the game of baseball is like and how I can be a leader to the future freshman and sophomore classes in Lafayette program history. Luke Hanson made an impact in Lafayette baseball history not just with baseball, but his leadership towards the game as well.  His accomplishments didn’t stop at baseball though.  Luke Hanson was a number one quarterback in the state of Virginia as he threw for over 1000s of yards in each season and made it impact in one state championships with the baseball team and the football team.

Luke wasn’t just a baseball player but a weapon in the classroom as well. He would put his remarks on the paper as well in the classroom with a 4.11 GPA and having been in the National Honors Society and many more. Luke is a great overall person and helping the community as well Williamsburg, Virginia, and is now helping the community of Charlottesville as he plays his heart out for UVA.
