Meet Mrs.Hundley! She is one of our very own security guards, she keeps our school safe to keep learning going on the daily.

INTERVIEW

Q–Where are you from originally?

A–I am originally from here, Williamsburg VA…born and raised

 

Q–How long have you been a security guard, and how long at Lafayette?

A–This is first experience as a Security Officer, and I have worked here at Lafayette for 26 years.

 

Q–What are your basic duties at Lafayette?

A–To promote and maintain a safe learning environment for staff and students.

 

Q–What is your education and training background?

A–I have a BS degree in Health and Physical Education from Norfolk State University “ Behold The Green and Gold”, I am a licensed Driving Instructor, a Certified USA Track and Field Official,  and owner of two business – a Drivers Training School (A & C Driving School )and a Hair Salon (Unveiled Beauty and Barber)

 

Q–Why did you become a Security guard specialist?

A–I was recruited for a newly created position which was a School Security Officer because I was one of the assistant track coaches and the Principal (Park Land) wanted as many coaches as possible working in the building. At that time, I was working as the Teens and At-Risk Specialist for the County. So, it took me some time to consider because I had no experience or knowledge about being a Security Officer.

 

Q–What’s your favorite color?

A–Blue is my favorite color.

 

Q–What is your favorite thing about LHS?

A–It’s history and resilience.

 

Q–What’s your favorite candy?

A–I don’t really eat candy however, chocolate covered almonds are my favorite sweet treat.
