On Friday May 10th, the Lafayette Rams were set to face rival Jamestown High School. Previously in the season, the Rams were soundly defeated by the Eagles, but Lafayette had their eye on revenge for their second meeting. The match-up on the mound was Geo Rivera for Lafayette and Collin Boll for Jamestown. Throughout the game, the defense was the key for both teams but in the end, the Eagles came out victories on an illegal substitution for the Rams that ended the game. The final score of the game was 2-1 but Lafayette is still 1 game above Jamestown in the VHSL standings.

  • Lafayette Senior, Geo Rivera was the starting pitcher for the Rams against cross town rivals, Jamestown. Geo Rivera pitched 5.2 innings and gave up 2 earned runs on 4 hits while walking 3 and striking out 7. Geo Rivera took the loss for the Rams on the mound.

  • Lafayette Sophmore, South McDowell pinch hitting and takes a fastball into left field for a double in the last inning sparking a 2 out rally. Sadly, the Rams forgot to inform the umpire of the change and South was called out for an illegal substitution. With this out, the Rams lost 2-1 on an illegal substitution.
