USA hockey sweep!! Both the woman’s and men’s US hockey teams brings home the gold.
Both heavily anticipated games, but first the woman’s usa team takes the 2-1 win in overtime. 22-year-old prodigy Laila Edwards sending a bullet into the net. The second goal was scored by no other than USA team captain Hilary Knight sweeping one into the back of the net. Team USA was represented by young stars and legend veteran.

“In my opinion, I think this is the best hockey team (that) women’s hockey has ever seen,” said U.S. forward Kelly Pannek.
The woman won all seven games of their tournament line up.
For the USA team captain Hilary Knight that Olympic win was her last Olympic game. She is the most accomplished hockey player in U.S Olympic history. She has competed in five Olympic games winning two gold medals and three silvers. Her game equalizer marked her 15th Olympic goal the most all time of any U.S women’s hockey player.
The men’s team also take home a 2-1 win for the first time in 46 years. This is the third gold that usa men’s hockey has ever won. Six minutes into the game 24-year-old Matt Boldy scores the first goal to set usa up. The Americans lead the game until the second period with 27-year-old Cale Maker playing for Canada beat Connor Hellebuyck to the goal.
The rest of the time ran out going into a 3 on 3 play, in the first 2 minutes a New Jersey Devils star, 24-year-old Jack Hughs makes the Golden goal, first gold win since 1980. “Hellebuyck was insane” said Quinn Hughs after the game in an interview.
While the men celebrated their win Auston Mathews brought out late player Johnny Gaudreau’s jersey on ice to celebrate with them along with Johnny’s children. “Obviously, it’s been pretty emotional for some guys, but we’ve had his jersey kind of following us everywhere we’ve been as a team and as a group over the last year or so.” says Mathews.

Overall, this is a huge deal for the United States bringing home two gold medals in hockey. Hockey is America’s game!
