Summer Chambers deserves some attention, there’s no doubt about it. Chambers is in her senior season on the track team and she participates in several clubs. She strives for success in everything that she does. Chambers is determined, ambitious, and a natural leader. These qualities make her a great role model.  Summer Chambers is as intelligent as she is fast. She has received many academic recognitions and she is a major point scorer on the track team. When asked about her academic achievements she says, “I’m a National Commended Scholar, an AP scholar with distinction, and I’m a member of NHS, Mu Alpha Theta, and Spanish Honor Society.” Chambers is constantly on the track and she succeeds in both school and her sport. Chambers was on the school record 4×800 meter relay team last year. She usually ran lead off, which is means she was the first leg of the relay, one of the most important legs of the race. Chambers is a versatile runner. She can run sprints and she can also run distance events. Of her athletic accomplishments she comments, “I was All-state indoor and outdoor track, all-region cross country, state champion in the 4×400 meter relay, and team state champs!” Chambers just recently committed to UVA (http://www.virginia.edu/) where she plans to further her academic career and she wants to try and further her running career. “The University of Virginia is a really great school with lots of opportunities for me to do a lot of things academically and extracurricularly. The campus is awesome and Charlottesville has a lot of good food places,” Chambers adds. When asked about her goals in life, the senior says, “One of my life goals is to be fluent in at least four different languages and learn to play as many musical instruments as possible.” Chambers is well along the path to success in life and anyone is lucky to talk to her or watch her run. She is a prime example of a student athlete.
