Is “Ball in the Family” Worth Your Time?

Unique access format doesn’t necessarily equal worthwhile viewing

Contentedly, Shubh Patel watches the new “Ball in the Family” episode when he’s finished doing all his work in class.

Perhaps giving a loud, obnoxious-sounding man a reality TV show seemed like a terrible idea at the time, but the show proved the haters wrong after the first episode aired. This reality show is about life in the Ball family. From basketball games to family vacations, this show really has viewers excited for each new episode.

Lonzo Ball, who is the oldest son, was just drafted second overall in the NBA by the Los Angeles Lakers,  and hopes to prove himself worthy of all the hype his father has brought to his name. Liangelo Ball, the middle child, has just graduated Chino Hills High School, and hopes to follow in his older brothers footsteps at UCLA. Lamelo, the youngest of the three children, is hoping to graduate high school and follow his two brothers by attending UCLA. Tina, who is the mother of the three boys, is a caring mother who enjoys watching her family being happy. The show also has Lavar’s brothers and uncles as the security team, and Lonzo’s and Liangelo’s girlfriends and their friends occasionally.

Lavar’s main goal for his family is to make sure they have the best life possible. After Lonzo’s Summer League performance, he took the whole family (including the girlfriends and friends) to Hawaii to enjoy a peaceful and relaxing vacation. The family had a blast in Hawaii doing all sorts of fun. They went jet skiing and dove in a shark cage, which is where everyone found out that Lamelo was scared of sharks. Even though he didn’t want to go in the cage, his family still made him.

Although this show was just recently created, it has a promising future just like the family.  We are only nine episodes into the show, which is leaving people hungry for the next installment.
