Kansas City Chiefs played the Philadelphia Eagles at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona on February 12^th, 2023. Some of the big names throughout the game were quarterback, Patrick Mahomes and tight end, Travis Kelce for the Chiefs. Along with quarter Jalen Hurts from the Philadelphia Eagles. The Super Bowl is an annual championship game played by the winners of the two conferences of the NFL. This was the final game of the season. It was one of the most watched sporting events in the country known for its commercials, halftime shows, and entertaining games.

This coming Super Bowl is set on Sunday, February 11^th, 2024, in Paradise, Nevada. It will take place at Allegiant Stadium which holds a capacity of almost 65,000 fans. It is home to the Las Vegas raiders and is fully enclosed and climate controlled for games. This game will make history, being the first time in NFL history that the Super Bowl will be broadcasted in two different formats. CBS will be carrying the traditional broadcast of the game and Nickelodeon will air an exclusive kids and family friendly telecast.

Something big that is happening today is the news surrounding super bowl winner, Travis Kelce, and pop star, Taylor Swift. It has been overflowing the media and has been all people have talked about the NFL in the past month. Kelce’s jersey sales have had a 400% increase since news about him and Taylor Swift. Along with the Chiefs selling more tickets in a single season since the start of the 2023 season. The NFL broadcasting viewers have skyrocketed each game along with the attendance at games, especially Chiefs games.

Tom Brady, quarterback for the Patriots then the Buccaneers announces his retirement from the NFL on February 1^st, 2023. This was his second retirement in the span of a year. He says, “It is time to focus my time and energy on other things.” With seven super bowl wins (XXXVI, XXXVII, XXXIX, XLIX, LI, LIII, and LV) and five super bowl MVP awards (XXXVI, XXXVIII, XLIX, LI, and LV) which is an all-time record. He also won three NFL MVP awards (2007, 2010, and 2017). He is mainly known for his time with the patriots for twenty seasons. He said after retirement because he says he will forever be a patriot.

Although the NFL is a football organization these events help shape different parts of the NFL. It’s not just about football. It is about the people that surround it as a community that helps recognize the value and importance of the NFL. The players aren’t just known for their ability to play football, but also their lives and different important events make the NFL what it is today.
