Meet Roger Hunt! Did you know that he graduated from Lafayette High School almost 40 years ago?

Q- Where are you from originally?  

A- Williamsburg, VA

Q- How long have you been teaching and how long at LHS?  

A- This is my first year at LHS.  However, I graduated from LHS almost 40 years ago.  I taught 4 years at JHS, 3 years at WHS, and 1 year at the virtual academy.

Q- Where did you go to college? 

A- I did my undergraduate at Virginia Tech and my master’s at Clemson University.

Q- What subject (s) do you teach?  

A- Project Lead the Way classes – Engineering and Computer Science.  Also, Architecture and Digital Visualization (animation).

Q- Why did you become a teacher?

A- I worked in Engineering and Construction for almost 30 years.  It was great.  However, there is nothing that can compare to teaching.  It is challenging, always changing, and high school students are just awesome.

Q- What are your hobbies? 

A- Mountain Biking and road cycling, dirt biking with my son, sailing and boating.

Q- What is your ideal vacation?

A- Anywhere in a foreign country, especially Europe and or South or Central America.

Q- What’s your favorite color?  

A- Blue.
