She was diagnosed with lupus August 30, 2016 and she went through chemotherapy to treat the disease., lupus includes lupus vulgaris or lupus erythematosus. Common symptoms include, hair loss, scaly rashes, dryness or ulcers in the mouth, fatigue, fever, major depression, and pain in the muscles. On October 23, 2015 the singer announced that the revival album was going to be her last. On May 23, 2016 she was singing one of her songs, “Who Says”, when she thought about the audience of all her loyal fans. “I know this going to affect all of my fans, but I bet they would love to see me take care of myself rather than be sick,” she stated. She needs to take care of herself before she thinks about doing anything else.

According to Hollywood gossip, after two months in rehab the singer is back out into the world again, she seems alive and better than ever. “You are not what happened to you, you are what you choose to become after what happened to you.” She told Hollywood insider. It turns out that her lupus may be caused by her relationship with singer Justin Bieber. Her family got in touch with him and told him to stay far, far, far away from Selena Gomez. He was told not to call, text, email, or talk to her ever again. They threatened to get a restraining order against him. There is some real tension between the two families.
