The fear of AI taking over has been another fear that has been set in place for the longest time, especially with the creation of SORA AI, a new generative AI program that can make hyper-realistic photos, which is starting to make people question if things are real or fake since now you can’t tell if a video is real or AI-generated. Does this mean that we’re starting the downfall of the human race or the upbringing of AI? Well, it depends on how you look at it. AI is a great tool for making life easier all together, but it can also be used with malicious intent and easily turned against the human race. With things such as computer malware getting a mind of its own, it can quickly spread and cause millions of dollars in electronic damage. Although the odds of this happening are unlikely, it is still possible since AI has been learning more and more frequently to be able to make its own decisions without pre-programming showing a sign of consciousness. Even though this sounds scary, it can still have a major benefit to businesses like elderly care since you can use this preprogramming to make a robot that caters to each elderly person’s particular needs. As you can see, there are great benefits but also horrible downsides to this, as a lot of jobs will be lost because of AI, but more will be made. Vaccines can be created quicker, and ideas for fair peace treaties can be expressed. AI allows ideas to be executed a lot quicker while having some negative downsides; this makes it not completely negative.
