Current junior David Schniepp has been a hot topic for the past week. Ever since he officially launched  his presidential campaign, he’s been fairly busy planning his next move. Many are intrigued about what compelled him to make these videos, but most importantly, everyone is wondering, “Who is this kid?”. David’s absence for the past couple of years has cost him some popularity points, but he is determined to redeem himself and ensure our class has the best senior year. Keep reading this interview to find out more about Schniepp’s past whereabouts, goals, and his promises as president.

Q- Where have you been since Freshman year?

A- I’ve been kind of everywhere these past couple of years. In my freshman year, I had to randomly move to Austria, and gave up everything I had going. I ended up spending a whole year there in Vienna, as my class’ Vice President. Although it was fun, I was missing something, and knew I had to come back.

Q- What made you decide to run for president again?

A- I want to run again because I have unfinished work to do. I was our class’ freshman class president and, because I moved, I never got to finish my term. My spot ended up being given to someone else, and I’ve been wanting it back ever since.

Q-  What do you hope to accomplish as the Senior Class President?

A- I hope to accomplish many things as president, but the main things are keeping in touch with the senior class, improving the quality of life for students, and having a great overall year. For example, the school needs more microwaves and soap dispensers, and I plan to provide those things for us. In addition to that, I want to bring people together with more social events, such as an extra dance, or an upperclassman movie night. These ideas, if implemented, will make Lafayette a friendlier and better place for everyone.

Q- What inspired you to make those #awesome campaign videos?

A- To be honest, I’ve been dreaming of a comeback ever since I left the ‘burg. What me and Danny started here was never finished, things were incomplete. I wanted to show people that I am back in full swing, and I’m prepared to take the same energy I used for the campaign into my presidency. I guess I had a desire to finish it all, and I channeled that into the video. The rest was just us fooling around, but I’d say we ended up creating something amazing.

Q- Do you have any last words for our readers?

A- I’ve picked a very strong cabinet to make the upcoming year as smooth as possible, and I’d be honored to be your president. Follow our campaign at @Schniepp_Lowery_2024
