Ready to learn more about your favorite science teacher, Mr. Roesch? Personally I don’t have him, but he was very kind during our interview.

Q–What do you teach?

A–Chemistry and earth science!

Q–Why did you come to LHS and how many years have you been here?

A–I lived in Virginia, so he was local and he had a lot of friends at WJCC. Plus WJCC had a good reputation. He’s on his 8th year teaching here at LHS.

Q–What college did you go to?

A–Virginia Tech. “Because its Virginia Tech!” Offended to be asked such a question!

Q–Why did you decide to teach?

A–I used to be an actor and I love solving puzzles. So when I stopped acting people told me to make difference to go into teaching. I want to use my experience on stage to help people in the classroom.

Q–What do you love about your job?

A–The people. I could never do a desk job!  Worked in fiber optics and in a lab, but prefers being around a lot of people.

Q–If you could choose to be born in another time, which one would you choose and why?

A–1920, so I would be 20 in the 40s “Film noir stuff.”

Q–What are your hobbies?

A–Writing, building, and going outside.

Q–Do you have any advice for young people today?

A–Don’t quit anything!!  Finish tasks you set for yourself! No matter what it is.

Q–Dogs or cats?

A–Dogs. “Cats are too temperamental, they remind me of myself.”
