Queen Elizabeth’s life

Queen Elizabeth was the longest reigning Monarch. She had many accomplishments and is recognized for many things.

The Queen was known for her colorful outfits that she wore. The Queen would always have a hat that corresponded with her outfit. Personally, I think that this was one of her best outfits.

On February 6, 1952, Elizabeth Windsor woke up, went on like a normal day and did her daily morning routine, unknowing that her life would be changed completely with the death of her father and inheriting the throne.

Queen Elizabeth’s was born April 21st, 1926, in London to her parent’s king George and her mother. she grew up a princess in London with her sister princess Margaret. The Queen met the love of her life when she was 13 years old, at the Dartmouth naval college where prince Phillip was a cadet.

Queen Elizabeth II lived through World War II and had to be evacuated to Windsor along with her sister Margaret. During World War II she began to show a sense of natural leadership and stepped up to help represent her nation when she broadcasted nationally for the first time. In 1947 she visited oversees for the first time to south Africa where she spoke, and she voiced her devotion to the commonwealth. She married her late husband, the duke of Edinburgh, in 1947 at Westminster abbey where her descendants would eventually get married also.

Queen ELizabeth became queen at the age of 25. She was a very powerful and strong leader.

Prince Phillip and queen Elizabeth were married for a year before she gave birth to her first son Charles.  They went on to have their second child Anne. In 1950 Elizabeth and Phillip went on a tour of south Africa upon the king’s request because he was sick. It was while they were in Kenya that king George VI died, and Elizabeth was responsible for taking over the throne.

The Queen was coronated in 1953 at Westminster Abbey, the same place she married Phillip.  Her coronation made history as the first ever to be televised. The newly crowned Queen Elizabeth and Prince Phillip went on a tour of the Commonwealth where they had to be away from England and their children for six months before returning to England.

In 1957 the queen traveled to New York to address the United Nations general assembly. In 1960 queen Elizabeth gave birth to third child and four years later gave birth to her last child and their family was complete.

Queen Elizabeth was always every involved in the community. Many people loved her in England and respected her actions.

Queen Elizabeth was the first leader to venture to Germany since the first world war, in 1965. The first broadcast of the royal family was created so that people could have an opportunity to look into the lives of the royal family and what they do day to day.

The Queen opened the opera house in Sydney, Australia which excited many people to gather outside and celebrate. While the queen was touring Australia it was interrupted when the prime minister at the time had called a snap general election, she had to be present for.

Over a million people gathered on the streets of England for the queen’s silver jubilee. the queen was shot at while attending trooping of color but thankfully she wasn’t hurt, and she was okay. she spoke at guildhall for her 40-year anniversary of becoming the Queen.

The Queen spoke at the opening of parliament and voiced that she wanted to abolish their traditional way of voting. In 2007 the queen became the longest reigning monarch, passing Queen Victoria. She visited Ireland in 2011 and became the first royal to do so since they announced their independence. in 2021 the Queen stayed in the hospital for a night due to complications and had to cancel her trip to Ireland. in June 2022 she celebrated her platinum jubilee after being on the throne for 70 years. Shortly after on September 8, 2022, the Queen died at Balmoral, the royal residence in Scotland, at the age of 96.
