Alita: Battle Angel is about the adventure of Alita (Rosa Salazar), a cyborg girl, who is abandoned in a scrap yard. In the post-apocalyptic society of Iron City, a kind doctor, Ido (Christopher Waltz), takes her in and helps her get a new body. She wakes up in her body given by Ido with no memory of her past or location. The story continues as Alita tries to learn about her past, while getting used to her new body and the city that she lives in. Although it sounds like a good movie, it bombed at box offices and had the lowest money made on President’s Day weekend in 20 years. The film took roughly $200 million to complete and still hasn’t made that money back. For comparison, 2018’s Avengers Infinity War surpassed their budget by $20 million after only 6 days. Overall this movie was a bust and possibly a waste of money depending on how the coming weeks go. See the full review of the movie by Luke Asby and yours truly.
