Many families in the United States own the iconic “Star Wars” series because of its remarkable story line and ideas about life in a different galaxy.

Everyone should go see the upcoming Star Wars film, even if you decide to go “Solo.” Fans are thrilled about “Solo: A Star Wars Story,” featuring Han Solo’s past life and what formed him before he became well-known in the Star Wars saga. The film is set to come out on May 25th, 2018 and the most recent trailer for the movie was released on April 8th, 2018.  As reported by Rolling Stone magazine, Disney Studios recently revealed the official synopsis of the movie. It reads, “Board the Millennium Falcon and journey to a galaxy far, far away in Solo: A Star Wars Story, an all-new adventure with the most beloved scoundrel in the galaxy. Through a series of daring escapades deep within a dark and dangerous criminal underworld, Han Solo meets his mighty future co-pilot Chewbacca and encounters the notorious gambler Lando Calrissian, in a journey that will set the course of one of the Star Wars saga’s most unlikely heroes.”

Before directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller could carry out the filming, they had to find the perfect actor to fill Harrison Ford’s shoes. Alden Ehrenreich was picked to play Han Solo and fans are excited to see if he will live up to the expectations.

Donald Glover, also known as Childish Gambino, has played in multiple films other than the upcoming Star Wars film “Solo”, including “Spiderman: Homecoming” and “The Martian”.
People are also excited to see Donald Glover play Lando and “Game of Thrones” Emilia Clarke play a new character Qi’Ra.

The movie hit some road blocks on June 20, 2017, when directors Lord and Miller left the project midway through production. According to sources from Rolling Stone, it is said by Lucasfilm and the directors that “creative differences” caused them to leave.  Luckily, Disney was quickly able to sign director Ron Howard (A Beautiful Mind, Rush, The Da Vinci Code) to take over production. To tackle the script, veteran Star Wars writer Lawrence Kasdan, who worked on The Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens, was chosen.

“Solo” is the newest of the two Star Wars anthology films, the other being “Rogue One” which came out in 2016.  Both are set around the same time periods in the Star Wars timeline, just before Episode IV: A New Hope. Hopefully the upcoming film will live up to Star Wars fans’ expectations and reveal to the world just how Han Solo came to be.
