Lafayette Theatre Company has done it again! Their winter show was a huge success, making over double what they spent for the show! Almost, Maine is about a small town in Maine that is surrounded by love. Each scene had 2 to 3 characters and was about 8 minutes long. All of the scenes were about couples either meeting for the first time, seeing each other again, or saying goodbye.
The students in Almost, Maine only had 5 full days of rehearsal to put the show together! With all of the snow days, set building and acting scenes were postponed. When tech week came along, the students were helping paint the set as well practicing their scenes. Senior Elissa Neenan painted the wall for the “Moose Paddy” restaurant in scene two “Sad and Glad”. Junior McCarthy Smith set up the fake snow machine for the winter effect of the show, while Junior Gabby Munoz worked on the lighting for the Northern Lights.

Before each show, the actors start with a wholesome “Singin’ in the Rain” warmup in the lower commons. As the students set up backstage, the jazz band played and Freshman Dagny Bocklet sang. As the house lights went down, the prologue started and the show had begun!
Following the show, Lafayette High School’s director Suzan McCorry started advertising for the spring musical “Come from Away”. She talked about the processing of raising money for the spring musical and she showed
In all three show there was lots of laughter and tears. This heartwarming show brought festivity to the season of love. Actress Tabitha Anderson talked about her last winter performance on the stage. She said, “I can’t believe it has come to an end, but I am so thankful I had the opportunity to act in Almost, Maine”. Overall, the cast of Almost, Maine was very triumphant after their successful weekend!
