Continuing along the path through the park leads to France, home of the Fool's Court. Jesters of many denominations wander the streets of France looking to play pranks on those unlucky enough to wander by, all the while blaring their intriguing musical tastes over the rooftops of the city. Unfortunately, those looking to brave The Labyrinth lurking beneath the province will have to put off their plans this year, as it appears that the old tunnels have caved in and been deemed too dangerous for the common public to traverse.

Going directly through the Fool's Court leaves off at Axe Alley, a long-running staple of New France dedicated to the Wendigo, a traditional Algonquin spirit linked to cannibalism and native to the Great Lakes region, as well as the crazed settlers of the region being affected by the Wendigo's curse. Interestingly enough, during my visit to the park I never encountered the Howl-O-Scream famous chainsaw monsters, though that's not to say they aren't roaming around somewhere in the midst of Axe Alley.

On the final stretch to the exit of the park lies Festa Italia, and who wouldn't want to see the circus while it's in town? Sideshow Square is home to all sorts of clowns who aim to make the patrons laugh through the use of hilarious practical jokes! Of course Circo Sinistro is also in town currently, a travelling circus act that aims to display the more... abstract forms of clownery tied to the trade. Be sure to stop by and support the show!

The last stop on the path around the park, Dystopia marks the last haunted house present this year. The interior of Pompei has become its own micro utopian society. Will you submit to the system or escape the city and once again brave Ripper Row to exit the park?

Braving the streets of Ripper Row leaves one right in the middle of Ireland, a relative safe space amidst the chaos of Howl-O-Scream. Ireland has successfully prevented a monster takeover and instead established itself as a party zone, with food, drinks, and music for everyone who manages to make it there and giving them an area to pause and recuperate before yet again setting off into the dangers of the park.

Ever-looming over the rooves of England, Big Ben is often a welcome sight to signify a guest's entry to Busch Gardens. This all changes during Howl-O-Scream, however, as the tower casts a ghostly hue over the province, revealing the forlorn spirits who met their ends in Ripper Row, never to find the peace they so desperately search for.

Deutschland is the star of the show for Howl-O-Scream this year. From the undead roaming the city now known as Vampire Point to the brand new escape rooms and 4 of the 6 haunted houses available at the park this year, Germany has it all. Frostbite offers a chilling experience navigating the halls of what used to be The Curse of Darkastle, evading the frozen creatures contained within. Demented Dimensions will take you through the halls of Sterling Manor as they twist and turn their way through a non-euclidean space. Lumberhack is an outside haunted house home to a group of lumberjacks who have come back to life after a terrible incident 50 years ago. Finally, The Vault, home to past creatures of Howl-O-Scream who had been captured and locked up, with the most notable of which being Jack the Ripper and Giggles the Clown, has had a security breach, and the residents have gone back to harassing guests!
