Your 2019 Spring Break Guide for Williamsburg

Williamsburg is a great place to spend your Spring Break in 2019, here are a few ways how.

Over spring break, Williamsburg offers many different sights every person should see.

Living in Williamsburg can make it tough to find something new to do, especially when you’re stuck spending spring break here. But there are some things that this town has to offer. You may have been to these places before but they can still help you can make the most out of 2019’s spring break. Busch Gardens, Water Country, Jamestown beach, colonial parkway, Colonial Williamsburg, and other activities are just a few things in town to make spring break fun.

Busch Gardens is opening a new ride, “Finnegan’s Flyer”, later this year.
Busch Gardens and Water Country are two popular theme parks located right here in town. Both have so much to offer!. In Busch Gardens you can go for shows, food, roller coasters, and other attractions. Their roller coasters are what they are most known for such as The Griffin, Apollo’s Chariot, and Verbolten. A new attraction is coming out this 2019 called “Finnegan’s Flyer,” it’s a huge swing that flies up to 80 feet at 45 mph. This ride is said to provide beautiful views of the park while swinging back and forth.

Water Country is Virginia’s largest water park, with water slides, attractions for children, food, and shows. The park’s water slides, such as the Aquazoid, Big Daddy Falls, and Colossal Curl, create a fun, thrilling experience for everyone. Spring break here with friends and family is a sure way to keep SB19 fun.

You can also spend some of the best days at Williamsburg’s beaches like Jamestown beach or the Colonial Parkway.  They’re small but are still a great way to spend the day in the sun while cooling off in the water. Some areas at the beaches are great to have picnics or barbeques with your friends and family as well. People also like to row or canoe in the water which is a fun, new thing to try if you haven’t before.

Other activities to do are mini golf or shop at the Outlet Mall. Pirate’s Cove Adventure Golf is a beautiful place to golf with a great scenery and fun course, not to mention a fun pirate theme! The Outlet Mall has many different stores from clothing to jewelry. They have many popular clothing brands such as American Eagle, Aeropostale, and North Face. Big shoe brands are also in the area such as Nike, Adidas, Under Armor, and Vans. Other stores besides clothing are around like Bath and Body Works and food like Auntie Annie’s. The bowling alley is also right across from the mall.

Junior Drew Ramos is excited to tour colleges this spring break, such as VT, JMU, W&M, and VCU.

Colonial Williamsburg is a living history museum filled with many historical aspects. This could be one of the planned days for spring break to learn more about where you’re living. People walk around dressed up in colonial times riding horse carriages and giving tours about the town. Many tourists come to Williamsburg to visit the living museum because of the sites and interesting environment. There are also many restaurants, shops, walking trails, animals, and events. A town favorite place to eat in CW is the Cheese Shop where they have great sandwiches and snacks.

Madison Damian is looking forward to her upcoming spring break in Disney.

Sherrieff Ford, a Lafayette High School Senior, said, “I am just staying in Williamsburg with my family and probably hang out with some friends.” Madison Damian, a Lafayette High School Junior, also talked about what her plans were, saying, “My family and I are driving down to Florida to go to Disney World along with my best friend.” She seems very exciting to spend this time with family and close friends. Drew Ramos, a Lafayette High School Junior, is taking this time to tour colleges in Virginia. “I will be visiting JMU on Monday, VT on Tuesday, W&M on Wednesday, and VCU on Thursday,” said Ramos.

Williamsburg is a great spot for Spring Break. With many different outdoor activities such as theme parks, shopping, beaches, and Colonial Williamsburg, this town is an underrated opportunity to have fun during spring break in 2019. So if you think you have nothing to do during your break because you are stuck in your hometown, make sure to visit these places again with a new perspective.
