From the Coach’s Corner
Rams Score Victory, Steel Themselves for Eagles on Friday
Soccer is a passion for the Rams
The Rams are on a resurgence as we came out victorious in the 1st round of the Regional Tournament. Your Rams upset the 7th seeded Denbigh Patriots with a 3-2 victory last night. Some of the highlights of the match:
-Cannon Newell steps in after our GK had to come out of the match to stop a PK
-The Rams were down 2-0 and came back to win 3-2
– Blake Lowery got the momentum going by firing a shot from the tip of the 18 to go in the upper 90
– Zach Galli ties it up with a perfectly placed penalty kick
-Cannon Newell get the game winner by plowing the ball in the back of the net with 2 minutes remaining
As we move on in tournament play – we need your help!!!! Friday night, we will play our crosstown rivals, the Jamestown Eagles. Regional Tournament play means that winner goes on, loser = season is over. We need support! This match was close during the regular season and our boys feed off of the energy of the fans. We hope to see a blue & gold tide of loyal Lafayette fans cheering us on!
GAME Details for Friday – 7:30 @ Wanner Stadium – admission is $7 (wear blue and gold to show support!!)
