Chip and Joanna Gaines, HGTV Stars, announced on Instagram that they are pregnant with their fifth child. The couple has a home renovation show called “Fixer Upper” based out of Waco, Texas. They recently announced they will be ending their show after season 5 to focus on new projects; one of them being a new baby. Chip tweeted, “Gaines party of 7… (If you’re still confused… WE ARE PREGNANT) @joannagaines”, letting Fixer Upper fans know the good news.

At Joanna’s age, 39, the chances of having a baby with birth defects is 1 in 30. Viewers of the show have mixed feelings about her age. Despite the fact she is older, everyone is very excited to meet the newest Gaines family member.

Since the show aired back in 2014, Chip and Joanna have not had anymore kids, so the couple is very eager to welcome another family member to the Fixer Upper crew. In September, Joanna told PEOPLE , “Family is the most important thing in the world,” so there is no doubt that their baby will be loved unconditionally. The couple met a little boy, Gage, at a Tim Tebow Foundation event and used him to reveal the gender of their baby. Chip asked Gage for a name that started with a D and his answer was “Dragon,” but sadly Joanna was not on board with the idea. The search for a name continues but we can be expecting a name that starts with a D for their baby boy!

Viewers of the show were recently asked a series of questions about the couple, their show, and the new baby on the way. When asked if they have seen the show Fixer Upper, the answer was unanimous, and everyone said yes. Viewers had differing opinions about Chip and Joanna’s age, some think they are too old while others do not.

Senior Emily Spence thinks the couple is too old to be having a child and when asked why, she answered, “It increases the chances of birth defects.” Surprisingly, when asked if they were a fan of the couple’s relationship, not all viewers agreed. Keven Nguyen answered, “I am not a fan of their relationship because I think they have too many kids and their career is too demanding to do both.” While Keven makes a good point, World History teacher Brady Wilhide had to disagree. Mr. Wilhide thinks the couple is “goofy and they compliment each other well.” Fans of the show were heartbroken to find out they were ending their show, so when they were asked about it, they had very strong opinions about it. Emily Spence stated, “I am very angry about the news because it was my favorite show and they have so many kids that they will need the money to pay for college education.” However, Keven had a differing opinion, saying, “I was not upset about the news because now it gives Chip and Joanna a chance to focus more on their kids.” Everyone who was interviewed made good points, but at the end of the day, the majority of people are fans of the couple and their show.

After season 5 comes to an end, the couple has many more upcoming projects and plans for the future, including a baby boy. Chip stated in an interview with TODAY, “I realized the show was demanding time from me, and I needed to be giving it to our businesses, to our relationship and my family.” The couple also stated that they are very appreciative of where the show has taken them, but it is time for them to settle down and make new memories. Other than the show, the couple has created “Magnolia Market” which is located at the Silos in Waco, Texas. Magnolia Market is a place filled with shops, restaurants and many other attractions. They want to continue to grow their business and make it bigger and better for fans to come visit, so ending the show will allow them to be able to do so. Joanna recently came out with a magazine fans can subscribe to called “Magnolia Journal” and it is filled with inspiring ideas for life and home. Everyone can be expecting big things from Chip and Joanna in the future, but for now their main priority is the new baby boy.
