NBA Playoffs: Who’s The Champion?
With all the teams participating in the NBA Playoffs, one is expected to receive the title
After Thursday’s finish to the NBA regular season, the playoffs are just around the corner. Pure excitement from the fans, high scoring games, rivalries, and tears are expected this championship season. With LeBron James having his best season, to date Russell Westbrook’s second straight season record in a triple-double (averaging ten plus in points, assists, and rebounds), and Philadelphia’s historic winning streak, the NBA Playoffs will showcase some of the greatest basketball games ever played.
The seeding in the West is as followed: 1. Houston Rockets 2. Golden State Warriors 3. Portland Trailblazers 4. Oklahoma City Thunder 5. Utah Jazz 6. New Orleans Pelicans 7. San Antonio Spurs 8. Minnesota Timberwolves. In the East: 1. Toronto Raptors 2. Boston Celtics 3. Philadelphia 76ers 4. Cleveland Cavaliers 5. Indiana Pacers 6. Miami Heat 7. Milwaukee Bucks 8. Washington Wizards. In both conferences, teams have disappointed and surprised many with the seedings. For one, the Washington Wizards were expected to receive third seed going into the Playoffs. However, injuries have plagued the Wizards for most of the season. They ended the season, in their last ten games 3-7. The 76ers ended the season on a sixteen game winning streak. They were predicted to not even win forty games this season and here they are third in the wild East.
Now it’s time to make some predictions. In the West, the Golden State’s been plagued with injuries, so I don’t see a Cleveland vs. Golden State repeat.
However, I do see a 76ers v. Houston matchup. They’re the two hottest teams in the NBA right now, with winning records by land sliding their opponents. Analysists predict the Toronto Raptors, but they historically fail during the Playoffs and with a matchup against the Washington Wizards in the first-round, I don’t expect them to go far. The Washington Wizards split the series 2-2 with a victory in Toronto. Also, with the addition of John Wall, the Wizards could be a formidable force in the Playoffs.
As the first round begins, on April 14th, be sure to tune in to your favorite team and see if they can take home the NBA championship.
