Justin Timberlake was the star of the much anticipated Half Time Show for this year’s Super Bowl LII.

Justin Timberlake returned to the stadium stage for Pepsi’s halftime show for the Super Bowl LII.  Timberlake performed in front of 66,000 or more fans and an additional 110 million watching online or on the television.

Timberlake kicked things off with an interesting light show while singing Filthy from his new album ‘Man in the Woods’. He appeared wearing a hip-hop meets country outfit, referencing his new album.

This year’s Super Bowl was held in Minneapolis. During his performance, Timberlake paid tribute to Minneapolis native and recently deceased rock star Prince. With a projection of the late pop star behind him, he sang along with Prince to ‘I Would Die For You’. An aerial shot showed the surrounding city turning purple. There was much controversy over the tribute due to the open fact that Prince and Timberlake did not like each other, and that Prince specifically said that he did not want to be brought back after he passed.

Timberlake beams over his standing audience as he knocks out one after another of his greatest hits. There may not have been any wardrobe malfunctions this time, but many questioned Timberlake’s wardrobe choices in the days following.

Timberlake performed his classics, “Filthy,” “SexyBack,” “Cry Me a River” and “Mirrors.” He ended his performance with “I Can’t Stop The Feeling,” which made chart history for the longest sixteen nonconsecutive weeks.

This was Timberlake’s second time returning to the stage since 2004, when he and Janet Jackson performed together. Janet suffered a wardrobe malfunction revealing a little too much for the public. This show was a redeemer for Justin and hopefully one day Janet Jackson will one day also return to the stage.
