Legion of Boom Takes Huge Blow
Sherman Goes Down, Seahawk Defense may be in Trouble.
Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon last Thursday, November 10. The Seahawks went up against division rival, the Arizona Cardinals. Despite the Seahawk star going down, the defense held off against an Arizona comeback. The defense could have troubles in the future with Sherman out for the rest of the 2017-18 season.
Sherman has never missed a game in his NFL career and the Seahawks will miss his presence for the remainder of the year. So far this season Sherman has had a cornerback grade of 82.7, according to Pro Football Focus, which is an above average grade. He has been one of he leagues top shut down corners since he entered the league in 2011. He has a total of 32 career interceptions, fifth among active players, and so far this season he had two. Also, this season he is fifth in yards allowed per cover snap, with 0.45 yards allowed.
The Seattle defense will need to step up in the back end to make up for what Sherman brings to the table. With upcoming games against the Falcons, Eagles, Jaguars, and Rams. All these teams have high powered offenses and could cause trouble for the Seattle Defense.
