Philadelphia Eagles Soaring Into the Super Bowl?
Wentz leads the Philadelphia Eagles to a great start which leaves Eagles fans excited about the future.
After starting the season 1-1, the Philadelphia Eagles have won 7 straight games entering their bye week. Currently with the best record in the NFL, the Eagles are looking at a nearly guaranteed playoff spot and a possible Super Bowl victory.
With the 8-1 start, the Eagles’ offense is currently ranked at second, averaging 31.4 points per game. Although they are ranked 13th in passing yards per game (240.2), the Eagles have the 3rd ranked rushing offense with 136.8 yards per game. Last year, Carson Wentz started off the season on fire, leading the Eagles to a 3-1 start heading into their bye week. However, he struggled, finishing the season with 16 touchdowns and 14 interceptions, and leading the Eagles to a 7-9 record. But this year looks like a completely different story with Wentz. He, only 9 weeks into the season, has already thrown 23 touchdowns, with only 5 interceptions. Wentz is having an MVP-like season so far and fans hope he can keep it up to finish the season.
The offense isn’t the only reason the Eagles are successful this season. The Eagles defense has seen much improvement since last season, drafting Derek Barnett in the 1st round of the draft, signing veterans Chris Long and Patrick Robinson. However, the main stars of the Philadelphia Eagles are the member of the defensive line. Led by Fletcher Cox, Brandon Graham, and Tim Jernigan. Thanks to these three and others, the Eagles are ranked 1st in rushing yards allowed per game.(66.4 yards per game)
The Eagles hope to avoid a devastating second half of the season, avoiding a repeat of last year’s pattern. Will Carson Wentz lead them to their first Super Bowl appearance since 2014? Will he lead them to their first ever Super Bowl victory? Wentz has Eagles fans anxious to watch them play every Sunday.
