The NBA, or known as the National Basketball Association, just wrapped up its first round of NBA playoffs this weekend. The first round ended with Oklahoma City Thunder winning 4-0 against Memphis, Cleveland Cavaliers beating the Heat 4-0, the Boston Celtics beating Orlando 4-1, Minnesota Timberwolves winning 4-1 against the Lakers, and the Clippers losing to the Denver Nuggets 4-3. Also, the Golden State Warriors won against Houston in another Game 7 (4-3), and the Indiana Pacers beating the Bucks 4-1. As the first stage of the NBA playoffs come to a close, here are the stat leaders: Giannis Antetokounmpo with 33.0 Points, Giannis again with 15.4 rebounds, Tyrese Haliburton with 11.8 rebounds per game, and Chet Holmgren with 2.8 blocks per game. Lebron James, who is the recognized as one of greatest basketball players of all time, has said this about his suprising first round playoff exit, “It’s a business,” he said. Lebron is an honorable mention to the stats board due to his great play but unfortunate exit in the playoffs this year with 25.4 points, 9.0 rebounds, and 5.6 assists per game. Another great who had an unfortunate playoff exit was Giannis Antetokounmpo, who commented saying, “I don’t know, man. I wish I was still playing.” Giannis’ unfortunate loss against the Pacers was shocking due to Milwuakee being a high favorite on FanDuel Sportsbooks for a possible championship this year, as well as the Lakers with their new acquistion, Luka Doncic. My personal take with the 24-25 playoffs is that is has been unexpected and multiple upsets this year, making the series’ very unpredictable and creating a sense of shock value when someone views the games. This in turn creates excitement and profit for the NBA and its viewers, creating a win-win relationsip with each party. This year for the NBA playoffs has had many upsets and unpredictable moments, what do you think is next?
