The 2024-2025 college club hockey season has begun. William & Mary has an NCAA Division 3 club team, playing in the Atlantic Coast Collegiate Hockey League (ACCHL). The team is coached by Adam Bargar and made up of 32 players including the goalies. So far, they have won 12 and lost 2 of their games this season, including 3-1 loss to the Captains of Christopher Newport University.
Christopher Newport University is an NCAA Division 2 club hockey team. They compete in the Amateur Athletic Union College Hockey (AAU College Hockey) in the Atlantic Coast Collegiate Hockey League (ACCHL). With a 24-player roster they are coached by head coach Kyle Pettoni and assistant coaches Joseph Cuellar and Nico Cuellar. Pettoni previously served an assistant coach at Villanova, a D1 team, prior to coaching CNU. Christopher Newport has 11 wins and 2 losses in their season so far. One of the losses being a 5-2 rout by William and Mary.

Both teams had a win against the other, which will most likely create more of a rivalry between the two teams in the season to come. The most recent game played against each other was a very physical game, with multiple penalties and trash talk from both sides.
Overall, both teams have had a very impressive season so far, with only a few games left. William and Mary have two games left playing George Mason University on February 7th and American University on the 8th, while CNU still has 4 games to go. They take on Montgomery collage on February 7th and 8th and United States Naval Academy on February 15th and 16th.
