Lafayette, let’s rock the blue gold for our Pep Club co-president and multi-sport athlete, Charlie Yatsko! Charlie is a senior and is everything that RAMS stands for. Whether it is cheering on his teammates or his fellow students, Charlie always shows his school spirit. I had a chance to sit down with Charlie and ask him some questions about his time at Lafayette.
Q: What is your favorite thing about Lafayette?
A: My favorite thing about Lafayette is the school spirit.
Q: What college are you attending/majoring in?
A: I am going to the Apprentice School to follow the path of rigging or carpentry.
Q: Do you play any sports?
A: I play baseball and golf.
Q: Are you involved in any clubs?
A: I am in Pep Club, Spanish Honor Society, and National Honor Society.
Q: What has been your favorite memory about high school?
A: My favorite memory of high school has been sports and the friendships it’s brought me.
Q: What was your original thought of going to high school?
A: My original thought of going into high school was that I was nervous but also very excited.
Q: What was your best accomplishment throughout high school?
A: My biggest accomplishment of high school is throwing a no hitter in the regional quarterfinal in baseball and making second team all-district in golf.

Q: What was your favorite class at Lafayette?
A: My favorite class at Lafayette is lifetime fitness.
Q: Who do you look up to/who inspires you?
A: I look up to Bryson DeChameau.
Q: As a young child, what did you want to be when you grew up and has it changed since?
A: Growing up, I wanted to be a Major League Baseball player but now I want to be a professional trade worker.
Q: What do you enjoy doing outside of school?
A: I enjoy spending time with my girlfriend and playing golf.
Q: What is a life lesson that you have learned that others should know?
A: A life lesson I have learned is don’t hold back on the things you want to do, because sometimes you only get one opportunity at it.
Q: What do you hope to do after high school?
A: Progress and be as successful as I can in my field of trade.
Q: Do you have any regrets from high school?
A: My regret is not going outside my own box and not doing some of the fun stuff I missed out on.
