Ever Salamanca is a senior at Lafayette High School. He has been on the Lafayette Boys Varsity Soccer Team for the past three years. He has won various soccer awards throughout his years. He has been awarded first team all-region all 3 years, second team all-state his sophomore year being one of only three players who were selected from Lafayette, first team all-district and first team all-state his junior year. During his junior year he and his team won the 3A state championship and he played a crucial role in getting to the finals game. During the state semi-finals game, he scored the goal which gave them momentum and started their comeback after being down the whole game. Winning the 3A state title was the first time in Lafayette history that boys soccer won the state championship. Ever Salamanca is an outstanding soccer player and great addition to Lafayette High School.
In my interview with Ever Salamanca, I asked him a variety of questions which were the following:
Q: What was your favorite memory at Lafayette?
Winning the first ever boys soccer state championship last year.
Q: What year at high school was your favorite?
Junior year was my favorite.
Q: What is your dream college?
Clemson University because they have good athletics and overall, they are an impressive school.
Q: What do you want to do after college?
I want to own my own business and work as an electrician.
Q: What motivates you to do your best in soccer?
My parents, I have always wanted to make them proud, and he said recently he has had some pressure taken off of him because of new people entering his life.
Q: How did it feel when you won the State Championship?
It is hard to put into words how excited I was, I felt very accomplished in that moment, and it is something I will never forget.
Q: What are your hobbies?
Playing soccer, going to church, playing videogames, listening to music, and fishing.
Q: How do you feel being the top goal scorer at LHS last year?
It felt really good, and it made me feel like all my hard work paid off.
Q: What is your favorite ice cream flavor?
My favorite ice cream flavor is coffee.
Q: Do you think the soccer team has a chance to win states this year?
No, I don’t think we do because we lost very important seniors, and it will be hard to adapt to the new players.
Q: What are you going to do to contribute to the soccer team this season?
I will be a good captain by making sure everyone puts in effort and take initiative with starting conditioning before the season.
Q: A night in or go out?
I would prefer a night in.
Q: Christmas or Halloween?
I like Christmas because of the season and happiness it brings.
Q: Hot or Cold weather?
I like hot weather better because the cold is not enjoyable to be in and the hot weather reminds me of the beach and all the amazing memories that go with summer.
Q: What is your favorite food?
Chicken teriyaki with noodles is my favorite food.
