Jose Altuve Leads Houston Astros Against Clayton Kershaw and the LA Dodgers
The World Series is played annually between the best team from the American League and the National League.
The battle is on: it’s elite pitching vs. elite batting, and the stakes have never been higher with the Fall Classic underway.
This year’s match-up, the Houston Astros take on the Los Angeles Dodgers. American League MVP candidate Jose Altuve looks to bring Houston their first World Series title in franchise history, while veteran ace Clayton Kershaw tries to bring the Commissioner’s Trophy home to LA for the first time since 1988. Both teams are led by young cores, 2016 & 2017 National League Rookie of the Years Cody Bellinger and Corey Seager are the offensive leaders for the Dodgers. Jose Altuve, 27, has already won 3 AL Batting Championships, including the last two, is the crown jewel of the Astros’ homegrown talent on the World Series team.
The big story to watch will be the MLB leading offense of the Astros taking on the best pitching of the MLB in the Dodgers. Game One saw Clayton
This year, the LA Dodgers of the NL take on the the AL Champs Houston Astros
Kershaw and the Dodgers’ bullpen shut down the big bats of the Astros, allowing only one run. Houston pitcher Dallas Keuchel, on the other hand, gave up a home run to Chris Taylor on his first pitch of the game. He then surrendered a two-run homer to Justin Turner in the bottom of the 6th, breaking the 1-1 tie and ultimately the winning run for LA. Moving forward, we expect more low-scoring games such as Game 1, with maybe the Astros’ offense breaking out and scoring lots of runs in one game. The elite pitching rotation and bullpen staff of the Dodgers will prove to be too much for the Astros.
