Senior Night was last Thursday it was warm matching the attendee’s mood. Students lined up ecstatic to be recognized by their school. We recognized all seniors in fall sports including Cheerleaders, Football, Volleyball, Golf, and Field Hockey. Later on in halftime we also recognized our senior band members. Not only was this senior night this was also the BRD championship game. Our student section matched the importance of this day. Both events being equally significant. We admire the athletes who just so happen to partake in their sport for 4 years, showcasing commitment and growth.
Cheerleaders were first in the order of Amalya Chapman, Carly Gillespie, Kristin Harris, Jazmine Johnson, Tatijuana Jones, Ramiya Smith, Tahmyja Dobson White, Jordan Neal, and Georgia Martin. Next was Cross country consisting of Jillian Hunt and Valentina Martiniello, Gavin Conway, Brody Cox, Jeremiah Cyrus, Cavin Grantz, AJ Koval, Christoper Louridas, Dellinger Parker, Andrew Rutherford, and Quentin Trowbridge. Then we got to our football players in the order of Anthony Constilo, Kesiah Cowles, Cole Dean, Tristin Harris, Daniel Jackson, Ronald Lassiter JR, Isaiah Maxwell, Mason Mills, Sebastion Nix, Brayden Smalls, Kevin Tysor, and lastly Joseph Williams. Finally, we got to our Golf and Volleyball seniors, Sydney Corson, Reagan Hurley, Mandi Lynch, and Mackenzie Jordan.
After we got through5 that, the game started at exactly 7:02. The game wasn’t that eventful which really showcased how important it was to both these teams. It wasn’t a high scoring game infact it was only 3 touchdowns combined by both teams. But we still had some recognizable accomplishments by many of our players on defense. Tristin Harris had 13 tackles, and 2 for no gain. Sebastian Nix also had him a good game with 7 tackles. Our seniors were a big part in our victory Thursday Night, Daniel Jackson went off for 6 tackles and he also had him a Interception with 3:31 left in the half. Our first touchdown of the game was by none other than Joshua Simpson for 60 yards but was unfortunately called back for holding on offense. Breon Stokes had the first valid touchdown in the second with 7:41 left on the clock, and Nayeron had a 20yard reception for a touchdown leaving our final score 14-7.
