New England is a historic region in the northeastern United States, consisting of six states, which are Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island. Rich in colonial history, beautiful landscapes, and distinct seasonal changes, New England offers a mix of natural beauty and cultural heritage. Geographically, New England has various kinds of terrain; for example, New England has thick forests, mountainous areas, lakes, and rivers. It is the home to some of the most prestigious campuses in the nation, including Harvard and Yale.
