Lafayette custodian receives award

Mr. Walter Rios receives accolades for the fine work he does every day to keep Lafayette High School clean and safe.

Last month, there was a ceremony in the Upper Commons for Mr. Rios as he was handed the “LHS Apple Award.”  Dr. Nunnally chose Mr. Rios for his “positive, diligent work attitude.”

Mr. Rios is a custodian who works by himself cleaning the school and making sure it is ready for the students and staff in the morning. The accolade is known as the LHS Apple Award and is expected to be given out every month. This achievement is a way of recognizing the hard work that the staff does every day.
