Mr. Ebersole teaches English 9 and AP English Language & Composition here at Lafayette High School. This is Mr. Ebersole’s first year at Lafayette but he has been teaching for 15 years at a few different places. He taught at a school in Gloucester and he also worked for the WJCC Virtual Academy program before becoming a teacher at Lafayette. Do you want to know more about Mr. Ebersole? Where are you originally from? – I am originally from Central Pennsylvania, near Gettysburg.
How long have you been teaching for? – I have been teaching for 15 years total, but this is my first year at Lafayette.
Where did you go to college? – I have a undergrad at William and Mary and then I also went to Old Dominion University and I majored in English at both colleges.
Why did you want to become a teacher? – I became a teacher partly because I needed a job and I also love English.
Would you rather be teaching at any other school? – No even though that this is my first year at Lafayette I like it here.
Do you have any advice for young people today? – I would tell people to just go outside, relax and just be a decent human being.
What is your ideal vacation? – My dream vacation is somewhere in the woods near a lake and I would like to stay in a cabin. I want to go on hikes on the mountains.
When you were in High School, was becoming a teacher your dream job? – No, when I was in high school I would have laughed in your face if you said would I be a teacher, I wanted to be a writer or somehow just never work.
If you were to coach a sport, which one would you choose and why? – I would be a terrible coach at any sport but I like baseball so that is what I would coach.
What is your favorite Starbucks order? – I am not a fan of Starbucks but I would just get a Black Coffee.
What is your favorite TV show? – I would have to say The Office.
Who is a teacher that you think deserves a shout out? – A teacher I think deserves a shout out would be Ms. Wendt because she makes physics fun and is just a fun person to be around in general.
