Mrs. Jackson

Welcoming a new staff member to our school

Mrs. Jackson is one of our Career and Technical teachers.

As the new school year begins, it brings new students and new staff.  This year, we have had twelve new staff members join our Ram family.  Among those twelve, Mrs. Jackson is teaching Computer Information Technology, Information Technology Foundations as well as Economics and Personal Finance.  Jackson has been teaching for twenty-one years. Twenty of those years she spent teaching in Newport News.  “I taught mainly at Denbigh High School for twenty years, teaching marketing and business classes.”  Jackson went on to say, “I’ve also taught the college and career classes as well as dual enrollment classes.”

Jackson is excited for the upcoming school year and her first year as a Ram.  More specifically, when asked what she was looking forward to, she responded with, “Being a part of the school, just trying to observe and look at the culture of the school and pretty much just trying to fit in.”

A fun fact to know Mrs. Jackson better is that she loves to swim; she is also a couponer. Jackson went on to say, “I love to coupon, I consider myself an extreme couponer.” She often donates her extra purchases to food banks and to local churches.

Lafayette High School is lucky to have Mrs. Jackson join our school. We look forward to a great year with her.
