Many enjoy when the time comes to celebrate the holidays even before the month of December starts. The Christmas spirit comes out and everybody gets in the holiday mood with a nice Christmas song. There are lots of things people can do throughout the month leading up to Christmas such as putting up Christmas lights outside of your home. The colors shine bright once the sun goes down, and some believe it will help Santa find his way to their home on Christmas Eve night.
Christmas trees are a huge part of the season because it allows for families to have a bonding moment by putting up and decorating the tree together, but the tree is also where the presents are placed under the night of Christmas. Baking Christmas cookies and other sweet treats is another thing that people do to get into the spirit of Christmas. Gingerbread houses are a fun activity to do
because you get to design the ginger house any way you want with little candys, and the best part is you get to eat it all after it you would like. Christmas parades have been around for many years. Many towns throw their own little parades, but the most known Christmas parade is the one held in New York City every year. Hundreds of people come from all over the place to see this event happen because so much effort goes into the parade along with all the people and things that are in it like the large floating ballons of Christmas characters, the floats people create, the people dressed up in characters like Santa, and finally we can’t forget the numerous bands that participate in the walk down 59th street all the way to the Macy’s department store.
There are many holiday movies that are a must watch such as The Polar Express, Elf, Home Alone, Family vacation, Grinch, and Santa Clause. It is an easy but also relaxing way to join in on the fun of Christmas. Rockin around the Christmas Tree, All I Want for Christmas, Jingle Bells, Let It Snow, Santa Is Coing to Town are all very popular songs that are played around the time of Christmas and can be found playing in multiple grocery stores and on many radio stations. If you’re lucky and you live in a place where it gets cold enough, you might be able to spend your holiday with a blanket of snow outside. Snow on Christmas just makes for a more magical and fun experience because you can make snow angles in the snow or have a huge snowball fight with your friends and family, or even make the biggest snow man possible and decorate it with all kinds of things you can find.
On Christmas morning families wake up and open presents while watching a movie but others might
get up and go to church to celebrate the religious part of the holiday then return home to open presents. You may have some unexpected guests on the night of Christmas Eve singing holiday songs on your front doorsteps. These people are called carolers, and they go out as a group to walk around neighborhoods to sing songs they have prepared for families as a little Suprise and gift for their community.
