Lafayette Spotlight: Amy Wallisch

Did you know that Ms. Wallisch has two favorite holidays?

Meet Amy Wallisch she is a librarian and media specialist here at Lafayette High School. She’s been a huge influence at Lafayette for 11 years and is my personal favorite librarian!

 

Interview:

Q: Where are you from originally? I am originally from Illinois.

A: A suburb outside Chicago, called Naperville.

 

Q: How long have you been at LHS?

A: This is my 11th year at LHS.

 

Q: Why did you become a Librarian?

A: After college, I was teaching History at Bethel High School in Hampton, Virginia.  While there, the district offered a program where they would pay for teachers to get certified in school library media. I have always loved libraries and reading, so I jumped at the chance and absolutely love it!  I get to work with every student in the school, instead of just those assigned to me.  I love seeing how much student grow and mature from their freshman year to their senior year.

 

Q: What is your favorite time of year?

A: Fall.

 

Q: What is your favorite holiday?

A: It’s a tie between Halloween and Christmas.

 

Q: What is your favorite cheese?

A: I am very odd and do not like any type of cheese.

 

Q: What are your hobbies?

A: I love to read obviously!  I also like running and I just started paddle boarding.

 

Q: What is your ideal vacation?

A: It’s a tie between relaxing at the beach and hiking in the woods.
