INTERVIEW
Q– What do you do here at Lafayette?
A– Security.
Q– What did you do prior to coming to LHS?
A– Before getting into this line of work, I did construction.
Q– How long have you been at LHS?
A– About 25 years.
Q– What made you choose your job?
A– I like doing this line of work, and then years ago when I came here I enjoyed working with the kids. Keep them safe, keep them on track, doing what they are supposed to do.
Q– What do you love about your job?
A– Dealing with the kids, watching them grow from 9th graders to 12th graders. It’s a big change from a 9th grader to being a senior ready to go out to the real world.
Q– What are your hobbies?
A– I like to cook, I like to grill, I like bowling, and spending time with my nieces and nephews.
Q– If you were stranded on a remote desert island with 3 LHS teachers, who would they be?
A– None.
Q– Do you have any advice for young people today?
A– Try to grow and move beyond what you see right now because we have enabled kids so much since the start of COVID and it’s just gotten worse after COVID. They need to get back on track especially like here, in education, they lowed the bar so much, the kids will have to be the ones to raise the bar back up because it doesn’t look like the adults will be the ones to do it.
