Meet Bridgett Sledd, did you know she is a special education teacher here at Lafayette, read this interview to learn more about her.
What do you do/teach here?
The subjects I teach vary based on the needs of students. My role as Collaborative Teacher allows for flexibility in the content areas I teach.
Why did you come to LHS and how many years have you been here?
I came to LHS in November of 2022, but I had worked for WJCC Schools prior to coming.
What college did you go to?
I attended Mary Baldwin College and a BA in Sociology.
Why did you decide to teach?
The decision to teach started at an early age. I was always inspired by my aunt who was a kindergarten teacher for over 35 years.
What do you love about your job?
The thing I love most about my job is seeing my students grow and succeed even if it is a small win. It is import to me that they know someone cares.
What are your hobbies?
In my free time I like to go camping with my family.
if you could live anywhere, where would it be?
If I could live anywhere, I would probably move back to Toronto. I love the diversity of the city.
Do you prefer movies or TV?
I prefer series on streaming services.
