Rihanna’s Halftime Show Performance
Rihanna’s awesome performance made the night sparkle!
Amazing singing, crazy-talented back up dancers, and a much-needed football stress break, sum up the Super Bowl half time show that the incredible Rihanna performed.
This 2023 Super Bowl Halftime show by Rihanna was outstanding in my opinion. A lot of fans have agreed with me and think that this was one of the greatest halftime shows in a couple of years. With hundreds of incredible and talented back up dancers and Rihanna’s surprise announcement, it was very memorable. Rihanna was dressed in a huge, all red outfit, and sang some of her less popular but still hit songs. She sang twelve songs in her 13-minute time frame and started with a spotlight on her singing, “B**** Better Have My Money.” Then she proceeded down her set list of songs. After she sang “B**** Better Have My Money”, she sang the following in order:
- “Where Have You Been?”
- “Only Girl in the World”
- “We Found Love”
- “Rude Boy”
- “Work”
- “Wild Thoughts”
- “Pour It Up”
- “All of the Lights”
- “Run This Town”
- “Umbrella”
- “Diamonds”
I loved all the songs that she picked and thought she did such a great job singing. She also did an awesome job dancing, despite being super pregnant. At the show she announced her second pregnancy. It was shock to see that she was pregnant for the performance, as it was kept a secret until the show. Her stunning all red outfit did not help hide her huge baby bump. However, Rihanna still looked great for the entire show. Several of the dance moves she was able to do were super impressive because of her giant bump. No one was expecting the announcement because she had given birth earlier this year, but it made the show even better and added a lot of celebrity drama to follow.
What really brought the show together was the backup dancers. They were amusing to watch, very in sync for the entire performance. Everyone kept calling them “marshmallows” because they were dressed in huge, puffy, all white outfits. Dancing in a huge puffer coat is very impressive. The back-up dancers were all around the stadium and some were at the very top of the stadium, harnessed in because they were up so high. The improv dancing part of it was impressive, since they all did something different, though it still looked meshed together because of the matching outfits.
Rihanna’s energy throughout the whole performance was one of the real highlights of the entire evening. Her stage presence was unlike any other and she really had an “I don’t care” spirit that the crowd seemed to love. Rihanna had instant positive reactions from social media. If many people were beginning to forget about Rihanna, that ended with her Super Bowl show.
