Senior Rams pose for a photograph postgame

Lafayette’s football team has been undefeated in the regular season the past 4 years, a record of 40-0.  There are 11 seniors who have been on the team since the summer of 8th grade.  They have won a total of 49 games, and lost only 3.  The Rams have been unbeatable in the Bay Rivers district. They are the most feared team and for the right reasons.  They’re talented, committed, and well coached.

The seniors on the team are grateful and proud of their accomplishments.  Senior Linebacker Tristen Packer spoke on the subject, “It feels amazing having accomplished something this big, the seniors and I have been working together for over 4 years and this accomplishment shows how hard we have worked and the commitment we have to this team.  Playing on this team has pushed me harder than ever, but it’s more than worth it in the end.”  Tristen gives much of the credit to the coaching staff of Lafayette.  Head coach Andrew Linn is “beyond proud of this team.”  Senior Running back Caleb Kragenbrink described his football career at Lafayette as something that, “made him a better man, student, and player.”  Kragenbrink notes, “The coaching of Linn is what we owe it all to, he is more than a coach to us, he ran this team as if it were his family, constantly looking out for all the guys and always pushing us to be better.”  It’s the close-knit relationships of the coaches and players that make the team so special, talented, and uncontested.
