France basking in success after World Cup victory

The French National appears determined before the Final against Croatia

On July 15 2018, the two remaining victorious teams in the World Cup faced off in a battle for glory. Both France and Croatia were undefeated in the tournament with their eyes only on the golden trophy. France having an abundance of talented players that proved to be superior to the less experienced Croatian nationals, winning the game 4-2. It was an incredible bout watched worldwide by over 700 million people. The anticipated victory sparked intense celebration on The Champs Elysees and all across France for the ‘Equipe de France’ – French team.

On September 6th, the France national team reunited in Munich, Germany for a League of Nations match against the German national team. Though a much anticipated match and 70,000 fans in the stadiums supporting the teams, the match ended in a 0-0 draw.

Three days later, France returned home to not only showcase their talents against the Netherlands, but to show off the trophy to the fans in the Stade de France. 80,000 fans packed in the stands of the Stade de France cheering “Allez Les Bleus”; France’s slogan meaning “Go the Blues”. After winning the match 2-1, the Equipe De France took a grand lap around the stadium drenched in sweat but too exhilarated to not celebrate with all their fans.

After losing the Euro 2016 tournament at home, the players felt bitter and hungry to show to the world that they can overcome a large loss and compete at the top level. The team is ecstatic to use the next 4 years to bask in the glory of the golden trophy.
