He did it. He did it. And after the interview any doubters would say: he did it.

Our American Justice system says innocent until proven guilty. Nicole Brown Simpson was murdered by her jealous, abusive ex-husband O.J. Simpson on June 12, 1994. In criminal court, O.J. was acquitted of the murders. He was presumed innocent, until now. His hypothetical confession of what happened that night, is a true confession to murder. Anyone who was 99% sure he was guilty is now 100% sure. His statement proves to the doubters he is guilty.

This interview was shot in 2006, but was never broadcasted. Nicole Simpson’s family kept the interview from the public to protect her reputation. Nobody knew what was going to be said, until now.

“O.J. Simpson: The Lost Confession” was broadcast by FOX on March 11, 2018 and was hosted by Soledad O’Brien and joined by Christopher Darden, Eve Shakti, Rita Smith, Jim Clemente, and Judith Regan. In 2006, O.J. Simpson sat down with Judith Regan and did a no-holds-barred interview.

Like all relationships, Nicole and O.J. Simpson’s had its ups and its downs. O.J. loved his wife, but the love was connected with violence. Nicole Simpson documented the violence and the abuse. She divorced O.J. and that is when the stalking began. He made sure their paths would cross again. He claims he didn’t want to get Nicole back. He just wanted to spend more time with the kids, and Nicole being there was unavoidable. Nicole was done with O.J, after making a 911 call because he kicked in the door to her house, screaming at her outraged.

But he wasn’t done with her.

On June 12, 1994 Nicole and O.J. attended their daughter’s recital. Afterwards, there was to be a family celebration at Mezzaluna’s restaurant, but Nicole wouldn’t invite O.J. During the interview, Judith Regan asked O.J. to speak about the night in question after quoting his book, If I Did It. The line she repeated was “now picture this, and keep in mind this is purely hypothetical.” Before O.J. spoke about what happened, he made sure to say ” this is hypothetical.” According to O.J.’s story, he and Charlie parked in an alley near Nicole’s house. Ron Goldman was there to drop glasses off that Nicole left at the restaurant. O.J. reached under his seat to grab a knife that Charlie takes from him. O.J. and Nicole have a verbal argument about why Ron is there, she tells him to get away, triggering his rage. He grabs the knife from Charlie, but then can’t remember anything else. He claims he has no conscious memory as to what he did to Nicole Simpson and Ron Goldman. O.J. makes sure to say that he has never seen so much blood before in his life, and that if someone killed them then they should be covered in so much blood.

According to the coroner, Nicole was hit on the head by the handle of the knife and was stabbed four times in the neck while on the ground. Ron Goldman was jabbed in the face five times by the knife before his throat was slit. He was also stabbed in his side severing his abdominal artery. The killer goes back and forth between Nicole and Ron, continuing to stab them. Three types of DNA were found in O.J.’s car- O.J., Nicole, and Ron.

Although, O.J.’s hypothetical story about what happened that night is written in his book, it’s not what he says but it’s how he says it that is so damning. During the interview, O.J. Simpson practically told the world he committed the violent murders of Nicole Simpson and Ron Goldman. Why create a hypothetical that points to yourself as the killer? Perhaps the hypothetical is not a hypothetical, perhaps it’s the truth.

Throughout the interview, O.J. Simpson shows himself to be the classic abuser.  He couldn’t let Nicole go. His pride was damaged, that is why he committed murder. The abuser can’t remember the night in question because he wasn’t thinking about anything, when he learned that Nicole did not want to be with him anymore, he snapped. He killed them in rage.

O.J. laughed constantly throughout the interview showing no remorse, indicating that he is not just an abuser, but perhaps also a psychopath. During the interview, he spoke of Nicole as if she were merely ‘away,’ and not speak like a grieving husband who lost his wife in a tragic murder.

If this interview had been broadcast in 2006, the public’s opinion of O.J. would have changed. The free O.J. campaigns would have stopped. The Jury found him not guilty in criminal court, maybe he did it, maybe he didn’t. Perhaps he was just lucky. But now, any misconstrued perceptions of him are probably right. The only witness to the murders is O.J., and O.J. has proven through his hypothetical, that he committed murder. There are no more “I think he did it” statements from the public, but rather “he did do it, and got away with it” statements. But O.J.’s luck ran out in 2007 when he was arrested for stealing his sports memorabilia.  He was released from prison last October.

O.J. lost control. He did what he always said he was going to do. At the end of the interview, O.J. laughingly said “I love that girl you know, it is what it is.”
