Do you like curling up by the fire, drinking hot cocoa, and putting on a good Christmas movie? Everyone celebrates the holidays differently; these holiday movies will provide fun and holiday cheer to people of all ages.

Movies–especially Christmas movies–tend to spread positive messages and general holiday cheer. A movie perfect for young kids to promote inclusivity is The Grinch (2018). This movie encourages being kind even when you have disagreements and or differences with others. The Grinch (2018) additionally has a wholesome story about a guy going through positive change to benefit himself and the people around him. The Grinch in the story hates the holiday season until he makes a mistake and realizes that he should be appreciating it.

Joyful, light-hearted holiday stories are fun for families to have a good laugh during the Christmas time. The movie Elf is perfect for families to enjoy a humorous playful story. In the movie, elf Buddy thinks he’s an elf at the north pole who doesn’t quite fit in. Finally he is told by his “father” and Santa that he was lost at birth and ended up at the North Pole after climbing into Santa’s present pack. He goes on an adventure to New York to find his family. He goes through ups and downs and eventually finds where he belongs.

The movie It’s a Wonderful Life is a great story for a more mature audience. It presents the importance of family regardless of change or regrets. George Bailey in the movie is going through a crisis starting to regret his life when finances get tight. He is questioning his life, but before he makes a bad decision someone comes to save him. After realizing his impact on the world/town. He starts making changes and find out what really matters to his family and job. Life turns around for the Bailey family and they appreciate their blessings more and more every day.

Finally, the movie A Christmas Story is a wonderful funny story about a boy named Ralphy and his Christmas wishes, and how he goes about them. His teacher and parents think his ideal gift is too dangerous. He goes through some trouble with his school mates. Eventually Christmas morning comes around and Ralphy receives two main things, one he’s thrilled about and the other is embarrassing. Although Ralphy has to wear a giant pink bunny onesie, he is excited about his other gift. This movie is great for families and kids.

This list should have you set for the holidays. There are plenty more movies to enjoy but these are some fan favorites. For this Christmas the old movies are still popular. For example, It’s a Wonderful life is about to hit it’s seventy-fifth year since being released.  These Christmas movies will put wonderful impacts on all kids and provide unconditional nostalgia to the adults.
