“The Batman”, staring Robert Pattinson, released March 4^th, 2022, was a hyped-up movie to start the new year. “The Batman” was directed by Matt Reeves and had some big names in the film other the Pattinson including Zoe Kravitz, Jeffery Wright, and Colin Farrell.

I was a little skeptical when I heard Pattinson was playing Batman. Pattinson was previously known for his roles in the Twilight series and some other smaller roles, including Tenet. “The Batman” remains at the number one spot and crosses over 300 million. When it first came out its Rotten Tomatoes ratings were over 90%, but have dropped to 85%. This is the same rating as “The Dark Knight Rises” the last of the Christian Bale series.

This is one of the more unique styles of all the Batman movies, being a lot more directly related to the comics than previous versions.

DC stands for “Detective Comics,” and in this movie, Batman is more of a crime solver  than a fighting beast. Don’t get me wrong, he still literally fights crime, but he’s much more of a detective than we’ve seen before.

“The Batman” 2022 took a darker approach to the story and characters. This fit perfectly with the villain being the Riddler, played by Paul Dano.  Dano has stared in a number of other movies as one of the main antagonists, including prisoners, and he has also taken on the roll of being a serial killer.  “The Batman” 2022 had the Riddler being the main villain and then the Penguin as another, almost side-kick antagonist, played by Colin Farrell.

It was reported that Robert Pattinson’s original Batman voice was so bad that they asked him to stop. This was reported by ET Canada, ‘Absolutely atrocious’: “They told me to stop doing it.” In the same article it was also said that Pattinson had lots of bad ideas while filming the movie. ET Canada also mentioned that Pattinson spoke about how he was nervous about the role.  “I was absolutely terrified. I haven’t been this scared to release a movie in such a long time.”

Jimmy Kimmel held an interview with Robert Pattinson about his experiences playing the infamous superhero. Although Pattinson had a rocky start, it seems that the movie is doing well, reviews are good and headed for $700 million in the box office.

In one of the final scenes, the Joker was teased for a potential Batman 2. Clearly, the movie was set up in a way that it could definitely have a sequel or two. In an article published by ‘The Direct’, Matt Reeves himself has even hinted at the possibility of Mr. Freeze making an appearance down the road.

Overall, The Batman 2022 has done well publicly and could even be one of the best Batman’s of all time.
