For the past four years, Khloe Kardashian has been cheated on by her boyfriend and baby daddy, Tristan Thompson.

February 2018 was the first time Khloe was publicly humiliated. Nearing the end of her pregnancy with Thompson’s baby at the time, she saw inappropriate pictures of Tristan with another woman. She also heard accusations that she was being physically cheated on by Tristan. Khloe was devastated and believed these rumors, yet stayed with him after their daughter, True Thompson, was born. This cheating allegation was the first, but not the last.

The most recent scandal that blew up on social media started with Tristan Thompson taking a paternity test. He had been secretly seeing his personal trainer, Maralee Nichols, who knew he was with Khloe. According to tyla.com, after Tristan first figured out that Maralee was pregnant, he wanted her to have an abortion. He even offered 75,000 dollars to keep her quiet and to go through with the abortion. Disregarding what Tristan wanted, Maralee kept their child. It turned out that Maralee had not been a fitness trainer for years and was just a model. Tristan was caught in yet another string of lies.

After being in an on and off relationship with Thompson for years, this last cheating scandal finally sent Khloe over the edge. He had publicly apologized on social media and explained how he took full responsibility for his actions and was looking forward to raising his son with Maralee.

After apologizing to her and clearing up the true allegations, he then proceeded to apologize to Khloe Kardashian. Tristan says how much he respects and loves her and then includes how she did not deserve to be cheated on or treated the way she was. Khloe has chosen not to respond to his message publicly, but dealt with it in private. Right now, people are speculating that they will never date again. For the sake of their daughter True, Khloe reveals that she would like to keep the peace and co-parent.

The real question is: why was Khloe still with him after the many heartbreaking incidents? According to sheknows.com, Khloe quotes, “The ones that are meant to be, are the ones who go through everything that is designed to tear them apart and they come out even stronger than they were before.” This explains one of Khloe’s reasoning for staying with a man who didn’t think she was enough for him. Clearly, she was very passionate about making her relationship work since they had a child together.

Another reason that Khloe may have chosen to stay with Tristan was because she worried that she could not get another man. She might have feared commitment to another person after she had been with him for so long; this is an insecurity many people experience. It’s not uncommon for people to follow the axiom, “I would rather fix something with someone I’ve known for ten years than to start over again with someone new.” With fame like Khloe’s, there are many dangers that come along with finding someone to raise a child with, and not use her for her money. One wrong move and her whole family might be put at jeopardy.

Khloe’s decision to stay with Tristan could also have had to do with her family of origin. When growing up in a household with a lot of family members, you and your siblings tend to have many opinions about what you choose to do. In the Kardashian/Jenner family, the sisters have tried to stay with the same men to keep their children’s fathers the same. Khloe might have been influenced by her family to not make a scene and to keep the situation on the “down low.” Being a celebrity means everything is high risk, which can be difficult. The publicity that Khloe received when it came out that Tristan’s fathered another woman’s child was very embarrassing. US Magazine revealed that Kris Jenner said, “Tristan cannot be removed from their families’ lives and they are on the road to accepting what he has done.”
