In the woods, in a shopping cart, this serial killer leaves his victims to be found by civilians.

November 23, 2021, two missing women in Virginia were found dead in an open lot in Harrisonburg, Virginia. Identified by law enforcement agencies as Allene Elizabeth Redmon, 54, and Tonita Lorice Smith, 39, both women met the same man on dating websites, as well as meeting him at a hotel on separate days. According to a news report on ABC News, they were said to have been assaulted and killed, then transported to the scene where they were found in a shopping cart.

Anthony Robinson, the suspected murderer, was arrested after surveillance footage and cellphone records connected him with the two victims. He is being charged with two counts of first-degree murder and two felony counts for transporting dead bodies in addition to being tried for three other deaths. Two bodies were found in Alexandria near the Moon Inn, on December 15. Both of the victims remains were found in one large plastic container with a shopping cart placed near it.

The first victim is believed to be missing woman Cheyanne Brown, 29. According to the Washington D.C. police, cellular data puts Anthony at the same location as her disappearance on September 30, 2021. Because of the state of the remains, officials weren’t initially certain who the body was, though they were confident it was Ms. Brown due to a tattoo identified by her family. As reported by CNN, once the DNA results came in, it confirmed the identities of both victims as Cheyanne Brown and Stephanie Harrison, 48.

An additional victim, found on September 7, 20201 has possibly been linked to the series of murders by Robinson.  CNN reported that the victim, Sonya Champ, was found in Washington D.C. in a shopping cart covered only by a blanket. The case is still under investigation, but now Fairfax County Police are sharing their information with the Metropolitan Police Department.
