On November 8, 2021,thousands of people attended Travis Scott’s Astroworld music festival to have some fun and to listen to their favorite artist, but ten people didn’t go home that night and hundreds were injured.

Travis Scott is known for having the best concerts and best effects such as roller coasters in the middle of the stage and they have always been able to control the crowd in those situations, so what happened the night of November 8, 2021?

As reported by Vulture, an ICU nurse attended the concert and had a place toward the front with her boyfriend. “About 30 minutes before Scott took the stage, the crowd got more and more packed,“ Nurse Eskin reportedly told CNN. All of a sudden, people because pressed up against each other, pushed forward and backward. “As the time got closer,” The Vulture article says Eskins told CNN, “it got worse and worse.” Eskins added, “I had constant pressure on my chest … I was being squeezed … Right when he started performing his first song, I looked at my boyfriend and said, ‘We have to get out of here.’”

The sad thing is that people that wanted to escape weren’t able to, such as Eskins who ended up passing out. “Someone pulled me over a fence, and then I passed out again.” said Eskins. People were getting trampled and there was no escape.

Dividers for each ticket section became a way to hold people in, instead of being used to keep people out. The Vulture reports that “Authorities have claimed that the venue met inspectors’ criteria for safe entry and exit. Peña claimed that the venue could have handled 200,000 people under city fire codes. Authorities limited that number to 50,000 for the performance.”

Something else must have caused this outrage. Astroworld has an ongoing investigation going to see if there were drugs or what exactly happened during the devastating festival.

Travis Scott ended up doing the right thing and cancelling the tour. Many people at first thought he might have done something to cause it; many may still believe, but that doesn’t make much sense because he was on stage. People are most disappointed about the fact that he didn’t stop the concert. He stopped once to get someone some assistance but then kept going. Keep in mind that 10 people died and 2 people were pronounced brain dead with hundreds of injured. So does Travis Scott really care about his fans like he says? Or is he all in it for the money and the fame?

Not only has he gotten back lash from this event but Kylie Jenner, Travis’s baby momma and girlfriend “is at risk of losing many of her lucrative business partnerships.” says Kris Jenner on 95-106 Capital FM. Kylie took a little while to speak out about the situation so many people thought she didn’t care about the situation buton Capital FM it says that ““I know people do not think she cares but she really does. At the same time, she’s a businesswoman responsible for the livelihood of a lot of people.

“She feels like she’s in a lose-lose situation because she wants to take time to respect the victims from Astroworld but at the same time, she employs a lot of people.” As said on 95-106 Capital FM.

In this tragic situation people are going to be blamed and going to get backlash for what has happened until something comes out from the police on what really happened. Travis Scott should have stopped the concert in order for people to receive the right amount of help they needed, but he didn’t so that shows you what he is really in music business for, the money.
