As the Cross Country season comes to a close, the Lafayette Rams are going to battle for first place at States. The men’s team, lead by seniors Konrad Steck and John Barton, have a good shot at finishing in the top five with Steck looking for an individual win. On the women’s side, the girls representing Lafayette will be Brooke Crookston and Serenity Chavez. These ladies are looking for an All-State performance this Saturday.  John Barton expresses, “I can’t think of a better way to end my last cross country season than going to States with a great team.” The coaches leading the team are very positive about the men’s potential to finish well at States. One of the girl’s captains, Serenity Chavez says, “I hope that all the Lafayette runners meet their goal and are satisfied with their races and I hope that I make All-State.” The Rams have always had strong performances at the state meet, with a state championship in 2013.
