The biannual fashion week in Paris recently ended on October 2^nd. Reality TV star Kim Kardashian West returned to her private apartment unaware of what would occur that night. Five armed men arrived at the apartment in the middle of the night, and two of them easily entered the residence, tied Kim K up, and robbed her at gunpoint. Although unharmed, she was quite shaken by the experience, and it emotionally affected large amounts of people worldwide.

That night, Kim’s husband, Kanye West, was performing at the Meadows Festival in Queens, New York. While on stage, he received the news that his wife had been held at gunpoint and robbed in her room. Immediately he ended his set in the middle of his performance due to the “family emergency.” An attendee of the event, Sydney Lerner describes the event, “Kanye had just begun performing his song ‘Heartless’ when he suddenly walked to a man dressed in black on the side of the stage who had been signaling him. The man whispered something to Kanye and within seconds he was off the stage. The track cut out as Kanye’s terrified voice said, ‘I’m sorry; there was a family emergency. I have to stop the show,’ And like that he was gone and the lights dimmed. The crowd was left in utter confusion for a few minutes until the speaker started up again and an unfamiliar voice restated what Kanye had explained but added, ‘Kanye West is not on the premises.’” Later that night, it was revealed that Kim Kardashian West had been robbed at gunpoint in Paris, nearly 3,615 miles away from Queens, New York.

Police reports, as well as other statements, show that Kardashian West was robbed at gunpoint; however, they have not found the criminals who are responsible for this incident. These men stole millions of dollars worth of jewelry, including a 4 million dollar ring that Kim Kardashian West received from her husband. A stolen pendant was recently found and confirmed to be owned by the reality TV star, and it was investigated and checked for DNA, but no DNA was found. This has been named the largest jewel robbery against an individual in France within the last 20 years.
